Malted Chocolate Sauce For Waffles

Ingredients 175ml/6 fl.oz/2/3 cup double (heavy) cream

75 ml/2 1/2 fl.oz/1/2 cup golden syrup

25 g/1 oz/ 1/4 cup malted power / I replaced with vanilla power

100g/ 3 1/2 oz/ 2/3 cup dark chocolate

75 g/2 1/2 oz/ 1/2 cup milk chocolate chopped

2 tbsp butter, diced

To Serve

Freshly baked waffles icing (confectioner’s) sugar, for dusting and malted chocolate sauce.

1.Put the cream, golden syrup, malted power or vanilla powder and the dark chocolate in a saucepan.

2.Stir over a low heat until the chocolate melts, then heat without stirring until it starts to bubble.

3.Take the pan off the heat and stir in the chopped milk chocolate and butter.Leave to cool for 10 minutes.

4.Stack freshly baked waffles onto warm plates and drizzle with the sauce. Sprinkle with icing sugar.

      When I made it, didn’t know what to expect but actually it was delicious I used vanilla powder instead of the malted milk powder. Not sure if there is a vegan malted power.

        I haven’t come across a vegan malted powder but maybe there is. I think vanilla would taste very good too and I’m glad it worked out!

          I’ll check on amazon to see if exist, after pouring the sauce over the waffles, then I should be to make chocolate balls as decoration! But because I used vanilla powder instead of the malt powder it was too soft and sticky to make the chocolate balls even after putting it in the freezer could work but it’s going to take too much time..
